FULL RACE CALENDAR COMING SOON
Are you keen to get involved in racing?
Melbourne Uni Cycling has a rich history in competition in the Australian University Games and will have a team representing the University at the Unigames this year. Melbourne Uni has won overall for the past six years running and MUcyc has returned victorious from the Gold Coast AUG overall win in 2007. Watch out Lance.
MUcyc is also involved in the Victorian club racing scene. MUcyc is the only University Cycling Club to have affiliation with CycleSport Victoria. That means that members can get involved in racing in club events in Victoria. MUcyc will be entering teams in the club criteriums run over the summer season (October – April). New racing licences for 2008 can be purchased now and are valid from when bought until December 31st 2008. Thats 15 months of racing on one licence. If interested, please check out the Racing Licences page. Get training and stay tuned for more details…
Glenvale Crescent Criteriums
Most Sundays MUcyc will be racing at the Glenvale Crescent Criteriums (Melway 80 B2) which are hosted by Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club (CCCC). These criteriums are graded with B,D&E grades racing at 9.00am and A&C grades at 10.15am. Racing Licences are required to participate in this criterium and can be purchased from MUcyc. We encourage first time racers to purchase either 3 ride licences ($33) or single day permits ($18) at the venue. If the decision is then made to purchase a full licence then the value of these short term licences are credited against the full licence. For those purchasing 3 ride licences or single day permits (or currently have valid 3 ride permits from CCCC) the race fee is an additional $10 with licence-holders from other clubs paying $12. Remember however, that a portion of this fee goes into prize money for the winner. CCCC asks that racers show up half an hour before their race to complete registration.
For those interested in taking out a full membership (full year 2008 racing licence), please download a copy of the form from our ‘racing licences‘ page. Please note that we require you to print 3 copies of the form (your receipt, club’s receipt and CSV’s copy). If possible, please let us know in advance if you wish to purchase a full licence from us on the day by emailing melbunicycling@gmail.com
