MUcyc ‘Two Bays’ climb ITT Round 2 – TBA

After the excellent ride in the first round, the riders got to test their legs on the Two Bays climb of Mt Eliza. 11 riders set times in the first event giving an indication of current form and climbing prowess. This week sees an opportunity for new riders to set times and a chance for some to improve given the knowledge of the climb. With the Mt Dandenong ITT on its way, the series of ITT climbs up TwoBays will provide a fortnightly chance to build up endurance and climbing form. The ride will be meeting in Port Melbourne at the cnr Kerferd and Beaconsfield at 8.15 and will go down to Mt Eliza and back. This ride is suggested for medium to advanced level riders as the distance requires a decent level of endurance to complete. Make sure to eat a hearty breakfast so you can join us to build legs of steel!

MUCyc will continue to run social rides on Sundays, but for those who like regular rides, you may wish to take advantage of the rides offered by the University and Uni Cycles. They leave every Sunday from the Potter Cafe, Swanston Street, (on Campus) at 7:30am sharp. Refer to the ‘training’ section of the site for important details on this ride

These rides cater to beginner and intermediate riders, and the courses cover different distances at different paces. All rides will travel along the Beach Road course.

It is essential that you have a knowledge of bunch etiquette. Check our Tips, Tricks and Advice page for details.

Event Y Social and Introduction ride (Hawthorn Velodrome)

This event is for gung-ho racers who want a hit out on the track, time trialling and sprinting, as well as those new to road riding, or those who haven’t quite reached their desired level of fitness. The velodrome location will allow everyone to stay together, since no one can be left behind on a circular track. Genius!

The possibility also exists for a group to run some criterium training around the Richmond Boulevard, made more appealing by the fact that it has recently been resealed. Smooooth.

Event X MUCyc ITT Challenge (Sassafrass)

While still in development, this event will involve each competitor ascending the Sassafrass climb in an ITT. Better get out there and start practicing the climb!
