Vice-Presidentscott24

Name: Joseph Amin
Age: 25
Uni: Arts/Public Policy/Law
Years Cycling: on and off most of my life, seriously for the last 3 years
Rides: Few commuters, Trek 6700 MTB for the offroad stuff, and my prized possession; built-up alloy/carbon frame w/ campag. Picking out the parts and putting them together to make something unique makes it feel so much more yours.
Favorite ride: Oh, so many. Arthurs seat was fun, cycling around kew is pretty good too, tho i no longer like to play in traffic. The yarra blvd is a staple, and the entire capital city trail is pretty awesome to have on the doorstep of the CBD. We’re pretty lucky here in Melbourne!
Best cycling memory: Basically, all of the great people that I keep on meeting on my adventures on the saddle. Too many to name, and from many different disciplines. My overwhelming sense is that there are no shortage of people willing to support and help even strangers who are brought together through a love for the two-wheeled sport. To the many people who I feel indebted to for looking after me when I needed it, or simply rode with me through many difficult kms, thankyou!
Favorite cyclist: Armstrong. Perhaps cliche, but i read all of his books and find the person who won 7 tours of france impressive in more ways than one. Like he said, it’s not about the bike.
Favorite Pro team: T-mobile, anyone who can pull off riding in pink is damn awesome in my book. Also the past talent that the team had was awesome too. Team ONCE was in that category too, but i loved the principle sponsor’s cause most of all – likewise for Phonak. Too bad that the dark side of cycling has claimed all of these inspirational teams.
Stupidest thing: Thankfully not too many, but one piece of exceptional ineptness must not go unmentioned. Taking my eye off the road approaching the banked turn on the Yarra Blvd and remembering about that fast-approaching curb a little too late before smacking the pavement @ c.45km/h. Losing that much skin teaches you a pretty effective lesson on paying attention.

Secretary
Name: Nick
Age: 21
Uni: BSc – Chem/Pharma majors 3rd Year
Years cycling: Several; road as of May 07
Bike(s): Main stead is 60cm Trek 1400, mainly 105, ultegra bits and ritchey protocol wheels. Have several others lying around in various states of disrepair, and my new Fuji track is on the way.
Favorite ride: Favourite ride is anywhere up in the dandenongs – with all the beautiful scenery – that’s where I grew up. Also some country rides are really enjoyable – out near Wangaratta etc
Best cycling memory: Descending anywhere… Ocean road corners
Favorite cyclist: Fabian Cancellara… Euro and sophisticated, rides the bikes I want, similar height and weight, and world time trial champ…
Favorite Pro team: CSC of course…
Stupidest thing: Always forgetting to tighten brakes after bike has been in the car…
